JUNO’s New Focus Kicks Software Platform into High Gear for Athletic, Sports Organizations
SAAS Company Targets Pro, Amateur, Student Sports Organizations in Appointment of San Diego Sockers’ Javier Vispo Alvarez
February 28, 2022 – San Diego-- JUNO, a software company that connects and educates people on a single destination platform for events and year-round community, announces the appointment of Javier Vispo Alvarez to oversee its sports division. He has served as a player, coach, and fan throughout his life and recently signed with a professional team in the Major Arena Soccer League.
“Javier’s passion for athletics will help clients connect to the opportunities ahead of them in digital community-building,” says VP, Strategic Partnerships Peter Hodgen. “He knows the challenges facing organizations at the pro, amateur, and youth levels first-hand. JUNO connects and educates members and users within organizations that recognize the need for online training, networking and building robust, active communities.”
Alvarez’s new assignment will make an impact in the way sports communities interact and engage, something he is passionate about. He originally came to the United States to play NCAA soccer at Concordia College, where he set a new record for assists and earned first team honors in the conference four years in a row. Growing up in Spain, Alvarez played for a professional youth soccer club, Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña, from 8 years old to 18, before going pro in La Liga 3rd Division. He also played in Spain’s Nation’s Cup as U-14, U-16, and U-18. He speaks Spanish, Portuguese, English, and Italian. Gaining exposure to technology and his many years in the sports world, Alvarez uniquely understands the needs of athletic organizations and brings to his role, both knowledge and passion.
“Javier has been captain on every team for which he has played, showing excellent leadership skills and an ability to positively influence people,” Hodgen says. “Even with his personal success, he continues to coach. Javier lives the 7E culture we have at JUNO, and we are thrilled to have him leading this area of our business.”
